Thoughts of Spring Blog Party!

Lynnette is hosting the "Thoughts of Spring Blog Party", and I'm excited to participate! Please jump on over (after you read my post below) and visit some other chums to find their answers to these funny questions! It's a great way to learn all about people! And, while you are at it, please "join" as a follower of my blog, leave me a comment that you did, and I will return the favor. I am getting ready to re-think and re-vamp my blog, and want to get my readership up! Let's party!!!

How would people describe your personality? (If they could only use ONE word.) Are they right? Compassionate, and yes, they would be right!

What celebrity/celebrities would create a “Star-Struck” feeling if you saw them in real life?
If I could have met Mother Teresa in person, I believe I would have been in awe, not necessarily “star struck”!

Who is your favorite blogger? Why? I love to read several different ones, including Lynnette’s “Dancing Barefoot”, my pastor, Pete Wilson’s “Without Wax” and Robin’s “Pensieve”
What is your comfort food/drink? I love Sonic’s “Sweet Peach Tea” with extra peach and lite ice; I adore potatoes cooked any way you like; and, if I drink wine ever, I only like a very sweet white dessert wine, especially like the one only found at Maccaroni Grill in Orlando, FL. Called “Moscata d’Asti”! YUM!

Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself. I left my diaphragm in one time, went to have x-rays at the chiropractor, saw the x-rays in his office and was terrified that I had a cancerous tumor when I saw this big round white thing on the x-ray! My husband died laughing and told me, “Lisa, you forgot to take your diaphragm out!!!” This was a brand new chiropractor for me, as the previous one was a guy I had gone to high school with. One day, just after a Christmas open house at my Mom’s, I went in for my appointment and took he and his sister (who was his nurse) a plate of leftovers from the party, wrapped with foil. I stuck a bow on it and gave it to them when I arrived. Upon leaving I was a bit hurt that neither of them had thanked me for the “goodies”. Got home and my Mom told me I had forgotten to take the plate of goodies to them. I told her I DID take the plate; she told me I did not, that it was in on the kitchen counter. Upon checking she was correct! Took us a long time to finally realize what I had taken the chiropractor and his sister was the plate of ham fat scraps my dad had also wrapped up in foil for the dogs!!!! I could not go back to him, so I found another chiropractor; went to him for the first visit and leave my stupid diaphragm in! UGH!!!

Do you have a strong desire to do something you’ve never done? What is it? Play the guitar; open my own upscale, yet affordable, household consignment shop, complete with a little tea room/bakery and an art studio attached where artists could come and teach adults and children! In other words, a “one stop shop!”

Movies: Action, Drama, Romantic Comedy, Documentary, Comedy? What are your favorite genres? Not a big movie person, but would prefer documentary or comedy

Books: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Romance, Biographies, True Stories, Self-Help, Devotional/Study? What are your favorite types of reading material? I read mostly self-help/devotional/Bible study books. Occasionally I will read a good novel, especially if it is a Christian one like Francine Rivers writes. My favorite all time book is Redeeming Love
Music: Funk, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Film Score, Blues, Classic Rock, Crooner, Alternative, Heavy Metal, Techno? What are your favorite types? Christian/praise and worship/oldies

If you inherited a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with your money? Tithe to my church and several different charities; be sure all debt was paid off; help our children and grandchildren financially; invest; buy a decent car

Name one weakness of yours (confession is good for the soul). I drink a Sonic sweet peach tea with extra peach, lite ice nearly every day—Route 44!

If you could live anywhere at all (and take all your loved ones with you), where would you go? Right where I am; if somewhere else would probably somewhere in Switzerland or in Salzburg, Austria

Strange Talent? Can you juggle basketballs, put your legs behind your head or some perform some other strange feat? Not really; nothing that would be considered strange, I don’t think! Ask my family!!!

What’s something you consider yourself to be good at? (Don’t worry, it’s not bragging, it’s acknowledging a God given gift). Original scrapbooking design and execution; singing;

What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of? Wysteria; fresh baked bread and cookies

When you leave a social gathering, do you wish: You would have talked more or You would have talked less? Depends on the situation; I love to talk, so at times I wish I had talked less. Yet, there are times had I not talked, it would have been a boring event.

If money wasn’t a factor, what stores would you shop in? Coldwater Creek, Zulily, Pier 1, Pyramid collection

What is your greatest fear? Falling down steps (have broken bones before); the “empty nest”

What is your greatest accomplishment? Being married almost 31 years, bearing and raising 3 children

What are your favorite animals? Zebras, most dogs, Koala bears, rabbits

Are you a hopeless romantic? NOPE!!!!!

What movie or book character can you most relate to? Sandra Bullock in “The Blind Side”~ she takes compassion on a young man who had no one, was a take charge kind of person, and loved him through a tough time! I love doing the same kind of thing!

Oh I think it would be AWESOME to be able to play the guitar! I started learning the very basics years ago (my dad taught me), but my hands were so tiny that it was hard to play.

I actually like a few documentaries myself, especially 'Expelled.' That is a wonderful documentary and I encourage any creationist to watch it! It is truly inspiring and very well done. :)

It is great meeting you!

Oh.....how I love Sweet Peach Tea. Yum! I can totally relate to the fear of falling; I twisted my ankle very badly in August and it hasn't been right since so I'm so fearful of slipping or falling and twisting it again. Love that your grandchildren call you Lolli.....super cute!

Oh my, I hope I'm not being rude in saying this, but I just about spit the contents of my mouth across the room, laughing so hard over the chiropractor story. That sounds just like something I would do! I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time; and quite nerve wracking, but it makes for a chuckle now. We have a few things in common too. I hope you'll stop by my blog and visit me sometime. It was very nice to meet you. Thank you for sharing and being brave! You're a lovely lady.
